Vol. 50 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Charge Against Clare Men.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state what charge or charges were eventually brought against ten men who were on or about the 1st November, 1933, charged and remanded at a Special Court at Ennistymon with riotous assembly in Ennistymon on or about 29th September, 1933; what was the result of the further proceedings; and, if conviction and sentence followed, to state if the sentences, if any, were carried out.

The ten men referred to in the question were found not guilty at Ennis Circuit Court on the 10th January, 1934, of the charges brought against them. In these circumstances I do not propose to take up the time of the House in reading out the rather lengthy list of charges preferred in this case.
