Vol. 50 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Raids in County Kerry.

asked the Minister for Justice if he received any Gárda or other report concerning a series of raids published in the daily Press of about the 17th October, 1933, as having occurred at or near Ballybunion; if he will state if arms were carried on these raids and the objects of the raids as far as reported to him; if any Gárda investigations followed, and if any arrests were made or are expected.

I have received a report concerning the raids referred to in the question, which numbered two. Arms were carried. I am not prepared to state the object of the raids so far as the police have been able to conjecture what the object was. Investigations were made, but so far no arrests have been made. I am not prepared to state whether any arrests are expected.

Investigations have been going on since 17th October, and they are not yet completed.

That is so.

Has the Minister any idea when they are likely to be completed?

I cannot give the Deputy any idea.

And no expectation as to the result?
