Written Answers. - Ballyvourney Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether Timothy Dinneen, Coolea, Ballyvourney, has applied for a loan and grant under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the applicant's holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made, and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Connolly)

An application was made in November, 1930, and is at present under investigation by the Department's surveyor. No decision can be given pending the receipt of the surveyor's report.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether John Barrett, Derrynasagart, Ballyvourney, County Cork, applied for a loan and grant under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the applicant's holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made, and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

An application was made on 9th February, 1931. The Poor Law Valuation of the applicant's holding is £1 5s. 0d. The applicant stated that he would be unable to repay the loan required by him for the erection of the house, and the application could not, therefore, be proceeded with.

Lucey, Milleens, Ballyvourney, County Cork, applied for a loan and grant under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the applicant's holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

An application was made on 19th January, 1932. The Poor Law Valuation of the applicant's holding is £3. Irish is reported to be the normal language of the household. The application was sanctioned on 15th instant.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether Stephen Roche, Carriganima, County Cork, has applied for a grant or loan under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

An application was made on 12th October, 1931. The Poor Law Valuation of the applicant's holding is £29. Irish is reported to be the normal language of the household. The application was sanctioned on 24th October last.

Cotter, Derrynasagart, Ballyvourney, County Cork, has applied for a loan or grant under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the applicant's holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made, and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

An application was made on 25th March, 1930. The Poor Law Valuation of the applicant's holding is £18 15s. The application was for a grant for the enlargement of a four-roomed house in good condition, and was refused.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether Jerh. Sullivan, Gortanedin, Kilnamartyra.

County Cork, has applied for a loan or grant under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, and, if so, if he will state what was the valuation of the applicant's holding and whether Irish was the normal language of the household when the application was made and whether the grant or loan has yet been sanctioned.

An application was made on 31st August, 1931. The Poor Law Valuation of the applicant's holding is £3 15s. The application, which does not disclose prima facie a case of urgency, has not yet been investigated.
