Vol. 51 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Timber for Cubicle Egg Cases.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether his Department recommends foreign timber or native timber as being most suitable for cubicle egg cases in view of the fact that it is impossible to get native timber adequately seasoned for the purpose referred to; if it is a fact that his Department have consistently recommended the use of foreign timber for cubicle cases consequent on exhaustive experiments conducted by it which demonstrated beyond doubt that native timber was unsuited to the purpose.

Dr. Ryan

I would refer the Deputy to the statement on the subject made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in this House on the 15th March. There has been no alteration in the position since that date.
