Vol. 52 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Councils and Small Dwellings Acquisition Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state when the promised proposals for legislation to remove certain difficulties in the way of county councils that have adopted the Small Dwellings Acquisition Act will be introduced.

The Bill is in process of being drafted, and will, I hope, be introduced at an early date.

Will the Minister say when he expects that early date to be?

I could not tell the Deputy at present.

I am asking the question because of the great difficulty in which county councils find themselves with regard to this matter at present. That difficulty is increased where men have built houses and now find they are unable to get the money to pay for them?

I realise that.
