Vol. 52 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Annuity Arrears in County Westmeath.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the amount of annuities due to date in the County Westmeath and the amount which has been paid; also the number of 15 day notices which have been issued to date in the county and the number of recipients of these whose annuities are still outstanding.

The total amount of land purchase annuities collectible for the second gale of 1933 in County Westmeath was £42,973 17s. 6d., of which £20,783 12s. 4d. has been paid to date. Warrants have already been issued against 570 defaulters under Section 28 of the Land Act, 1933. No return has yet been made by the sheriff in respect of the warrants issued and, consequently, the Land Commission are not in a position to state at the moment what payments have been made to him.
