Vol. 52 No. 6

Financial Resolution No. 1. - Financial Resolution No. 11—Customs.

I move:—

(1) That no duty of customs, whether imposed before or after the passing of this Resolution, shall be charged or levied on any article imported into Saorstát Eireann on or after the 10th day of May, 1934, which is shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been manufactured or produced more than one hundred years before the date of importation.

(2) It is hereby declared that it is expedient in the public interest that this Resolution shall have statutory effect under the provisions of the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1927 (No. 7 of 1927).

This is the Resolution which exempts antiques from import duties.

You could exempt the Executive Council on that basis.

Of course, you could. It is in favour of the League of Youth.

Resolution put and agreed to.
