Vol. 52 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Reconstruction Grant.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that an application for reconstruction under the Housing Acts was made about two years ago by Mr. Patrick Browne, Cashel, Leap, in West Cork; that an inspector has duly examined and reported on same; that the necessary certificates required were furnished, and if the Minister can state when the grant asked for will be sanctioned.

Reconstruction grants are payable only to small farmers and agricultural labourers and it is necessary, therefore, that applicants furnish satisfactory evidence to show that they come within either of these categories. In the case of Patrick Browne, Cashel, Leap, the declaration as to the amount of land he occupies and the valuation thereof were not furnished. He submitted a form of declaration which was not properly completed and he was asked to furnish a complete declaration and a certificate of valuation. These documents were received on the 5th instant and approval is now being expressed to the proposed reconstruction.
