asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what was the amount of the Purchase Annuities Fund on the 1st April, 1934; whether any moneys have been paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer since that date, and, if so, what is the amount of such moneys; further, whether any sums have been paid into the Guarantee Fund out of that fund since that date, and, if so, what were the amounts of such moneys.
Written Answers. - Purchase Annuities Fund.
The amount of the Purchase Annuities Fund on the 1st April, 1934, was £23,988 8s. 9d; no moneys of the Fund have been paid into or disposed of for the benefit of the Exchequer since that date; but sums in respect of arrears of annuities included in the aforementioned balance and amounting to £22,957 15s. 2d. have been paid into the Guarantee Fund out of the Purchase Annuities Fund since the date in question.
