Vol. 52 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Bread.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has any information as to the completion of the inquiry into the price of bread in the Saorstát by the Prices Commission and when a decision will be made fixing the price of bread for the whole country.

The Prices Commission experienced considerable difficulty in obtaining necessary information from the interests concerned in the investigation which the Commission is conducting into the prices charged for bread in the Saorstát. Practically all the data required have now been received, however, and are at present in the course of examination. It is anticipated that the report of the Commission will be available at an early date.
