Vol. 52 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Great Southern Railways Services.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has received any representations from the Great Southern Railways Company regarding the proposed discontinuance or alteration of services on the system generally under the powers conferred by the Transport Acts; and, if so, if he can give any outline as to their general policy on the matter.

I have received applications for orders under Section 9 of the Railways Act, 1933, authorising the discontinuance of train services on four branch lines of the Great Southern Railways. I have no information as to what further applications may be expected.
