Vol. 52 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Training of Gaeltacht Instructresses.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state how many girls from the Gaeltacht were trained as instructresses during the year and how many of them have been absorbed in the rural industry centres as manageresses or instructresses.

Twenty-nine trainees in all have undergone a course of instruction, of whom 16 have been given employment as instructresses in 1932 and subsequently, and three have been employed in the designing and costing sections. Ten have resumed work pending the occurrence of vacancies for which they will be eligible.

The number of such appointments during the last year has been five.
