Vol. 54 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reclamation Works at Bantry.

asked the Minister for Finance if he received a memorial addressed to him in October, 1933, from the clergy and leading business people of Bantry asking that certain reclamation works which would be of considerable commercial advantage to the town and which would materially relieve unemployment, should be carried out; and if so, if he will now consider the advisability of putting the proposed scheme into operation.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The answer to the second part is that all unemployment proposals which have merits and which have not been carried out to date are continuously under review and reconsideration on their merits in relation to the actual circumstances existing.
