asked the Minister for Finance if he will state for each county the total amount under (a) the pre-1923 Land Acts, and (b) under the Land Acts, 1923-1933, of Land Commission annuities proper to be paid during the year ended 31st January, 1935, which were outstanding on that date; the amounts similarly proper to be paid during the year ending 31st January, 1934, which were outstanding on 31st January, 1935; and the amounts similarly proper to be paid prior to the 1st February, 1933, which were outstanding on the 31st January, 1935.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Annuities.
The reply to the first part of this question is in the form of a tabular statement which will be circulated in the Official Reports.
The Deputy also asks for particulars of the arrears as at 31st January, 1935, for the year ending 31st January, 1934, but the accounts of the Land Commission are not kept in a manner in which these figures could be readily given and their compilation would involve the expenditure of time and labour which would not appear to be justifiable.
As regards the concluding portion of the Deputy's question, all arrears of land purchase annuity prior to the 1st February, 1933, were wiped out or funded under the Land Act, 1933.
Following is the statement referred to:—
