Vol. 55 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Import Licences in Donegal.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether one merchant in County Donegal applied for a licence to import an engine of British manufacture, free of duty, and was refused, while a neighbouring merchant was granted a licence to import a similar engine, free of duty, and, if so, if he will state why this differentiation was made between the parties concerned.

I have had the records of my Department examined over a period of two years and can find no justification for the allegation in the question. If the Deputy will supply me with the names of the merchants he has in mind, I will make further inquiries.
