Vol. 55 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - King's Jubilee Celebrations.

asked the President if he has received an official invitation to be present at the celebrations in London to mark the jubilee of the King's Accession; and, if so, whether it is intended to accept such invitation in person, or to have the Irish Free State represented by a qualified delegation or by our High Commissioner in London so that the Irish Free State may avail of the advantages from any agreements or interchanges on an economic basis that may be made on the occasion referred to.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, I have informed the British Prime Minister that in existing circumstances it is not possible for me to attend the Jubilee Celebrations. Mr. J. W. Dulanty will be present in his capacity as High Commissioner of the Saorstát in London.
