asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of sacks purchased for the purpose of the peat scheme in the year ended March 31st, 1935, and the amount expended on such purchases.

The total number of sacks purchased for the purpose of the Peat Scheme in the year ended March 31st, 1935, was 150,256, and the amount expended on such purchases was £11,817 0s. 10d.

What is going to become of the peat sacks?

They are still in use.

As bathing costumes in the bogs?

I will lend a few to the Deputy if he wishes.
