Vol. 59 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laoighis and Offaly Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will furnish particulars of the applications for sanction for loans and/or grants for the provision of sewerage and waterworks schemes submitted by (1) the Laoighis and (2) the Offaly Boards of Health since 31st March, 1932, and particulars of the cases where loans and grants have been or are being given for the purpose referred to.

With the exception of two applications for grants for the extension of water supplies to Mountrath and Mountmellick, for which sums of £100 and £150 were allocated in 1932, the position is substantially the same as given in reply to a question asked by the Deputy on the 28th February last.

In the present year grants of £2,000 each are being allocated to Portlaoighise sewerage and Mountmellick sewerage. There have been no public health works in Offaly proposed so far this year. It is understood that a scheme for providing Banagher with a water supply is under consideration by the board of health.
