Vol. 59 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fencing Cottage Plots.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health is he is aware of the need for the fencing of the cottage plots before completion of the labourers' cottages now being built under the South Tipperary rural housing scheme, to enable the owners of these plots to prepare them for cropping in the spring, and if he will take steps to ensure that such fencing is done before making payment of the subsidy under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous) Provisions Act, 1932.

The making of arrangements for the fencing of the plots acquired by the Tipperary (S.R.) Board of Health and Public Assistance for the purposes of the Labourers Acts is a matter for the commissioner administering the affairs of the board whose attention has been called to the matter. The question of the payment of subsidy under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932, will not arise until the work has been carried out.
