Vol. 60 No. 14

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper, taking No. 1 first, and then 11 to 15 inclusive, omitting No. 14, with the motions for money resolutions in their appropriate place. Public business will be interrupted at 8 o'clock to take item No. 29.

I desire to register a protest against the usurpation of Private Deputies' time for the discussion of a statutory resolution under the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1935. Surely Government time should be taken to discuss Orders made under that Act which the House has reserved the right to question by way of motion. It is in no sense a Private Members' motion. It is a motion arising out of a statutory Order made under an Act of this House and ought to be discussed in Government time.
