Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Needs In Non-Urban Towns.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of each county board of health area in which a survey of the housing needs of small non-urban towns has been made recently (a) the number of occupied houses found to be unfit for human habitation; (b) the total number of new houses required to satisfy the needs of such towns; and (c) the number of houses in course of erection within the area of such towns.

The answer is in the form of a tabular statement, which will be circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the answer:—

The information asked for in regard to (a) the number of occupied houses found to be unfit for human habitation in non-urban towns and (b) the total number of new houses required to satisfy the needs of such towns is set out in the subjoined statement. Particulars are not available in my Department in regard to the number of houses in course of erection in such towns.
