Vol. 62 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - City Milk Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the low prices paid to producers of milk in County Meath and other counties for consumption in the city; will he state if he intends to remedy that position by legislation; and, if so, when.

I am aware of the low prices being paid to producers of milk in County Meath and other counties for consumption in the City of Dublin, and I intend to introduce legislation during the present session dealing with the matter.

Arising out of the Minister's reply, can he give any idea to the House of the date on which he proposes to introduce this legislation, seeing that the people in Meath are only being offered 3d. per gallon for milk at the present time?

Dr. Ryan

This session.

The Minister is aware of that low price for milk—3d. per gallon.

Dr. Ryan

I did not hear that.

The society, of which the Deputy who put down this question is president, is aware of it and he should be here to stand up to his question.

Dr. Ryan

He put down the question anyway.
