Vol. 63 No. 5

Supplementary Estimate. - Vote 21—Miscellaneous Expenses.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £6,755 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31 adh lá de Mhárta, 1937, chun Costaisí Ilghnéitheacha áirithe, maraon le Deontaisí áirithe i gCabhair.

That a sum not exceeding £6,755 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1937, for certain Miscellaneous Expenses, including certain Grants-in-Aid.

The charges are the same as last year. The Vote is for small grants of one kind or another, to which I think the House will agree, to institutions such as the National Theatre, the Incorporated Law Society, the Royal Irish Academy, etc. There is nothing in it, I think, of a controversial character or raising any particular question.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say what won the Saorstát Plate last year?

I am sorry I cannot, but I can find out and let the Deputy know, and also if I can find out what is going to win it the next time.

Vote put and agreed to.
