Vol. 63 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Degree of Disability.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Patrick Griffin, of Droumbrain, Glencar, County Kerry, who served in the I.R.A. pre-Truce and subsequently in the National Army, and who was certified as being only 20 per cent. disabled when before the medical board in 1927, is now completely disabled and unable to work, and whether in view of Griffin's present state of health he will have his case reopened by the board.

I am aware that the Mr. Patrick Griffin referred to made application under the Army Pensions Act, 1927. His application was not refused because of the degree of his disability. His case was considered by the Army Pensions Board on the 27th February, 1929, and they reported to the then Minister that his disability was not attributable to military service.
