Vol. 63 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repairs to Clare Cottages.

Mr. Hogan

(Clare) asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount estimated by the Clare Board of Health as necessary to put the labourers' cottages in County Clare into proper habitable repair and if he proposes to take any action to see that these necessary repairs are carried out.

The Deputy was informed on 27th May that the Clare Board of Health and Public Assistance had requested their engineers to furnish specifications and estimates for repairs to all cottages in their districts. I am not aware of the total amount estimated by the board as necessary to put the cottages into proper habitable repair. I am continually reminding the board of their duty to keep the cottages in repair.
