Vol. 64 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Silk or Poplin Weaving.

Mr. Hogan

asked the Minister for Lands whether any silk or poplin weaving operations are now carried on in rural areas, and, if so, whether he will state the number and location of such enterprises and the number of (a) men, (b) women, and (c) young persons under 18 years of age employed in the industry.

Silk or poplin weaving operations are not being carried on anywhere under the auspices of the Department; the second part of the question therefore does not arise.
