Vol. 65 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Home-Grown Wheat.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state why he deemed it expedient to reduce by order the quantity of home-grown wheat to be used by Irish millers in 1936-37.

Owing to unfavourable weather conditions during the period of growth, the yield of the 1936 wheat crop was lower than the average yield for recent years. Consequently the quantity of home-grown wheat available for milling was less than was estimated at the time that the National Percentage Order was made in December, 1935.
