Vol. 65 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fat Cattle Quota.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that the quota fixed for the export of fat cattle to Britain was not filled for the years 1935 and 1936; and if, in the circumstances, he will make representations to the British Government with a view to having the licensing system discontinued.

Dr. Ryan

I am aware that in the years mentioned fat cattle export licences were not utilised in full by the persons who received them.

As the future arrangements for the export of fat cattle to Great Britain are at present under consideration, I do not wish to make any statement in regard to this aspect of the matter mentioned by the Deputy.
