asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what steps have been taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire the lands of Ballinvilla, Claremorris, County Mayo, the property of the late Austin Crean, for the relief of local congestion.

Mr. Boland:
The Land Commission have had an inspection made as to the suitability for their purposes of the lands of Ballinvilla demesne in the ownership of the representatives of Austin Crean and the question of the acquisition of the lands is at present under consideration.
asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have decided to acquire the lands of Carrowhawney at Ballyveal, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, the property of the late Martin Curran; and further if he will state the cause of the delay in having these lands divided amongst local congests.
Mr. Boland:
Proceedings have been instituted for the acquisition of the lands of Carrowhawney containing 117a. 3r. 4p., and the owner has requested the Land Commission to provide him with a holding in lieu of these lands. His application was heard by the Land Commission and judgment was reserved.
asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what steps have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire for the relief of local congestion the lands of Drim Stacpoole estate at Brickens, Claremorris, County Mayo, formerly in the possession of Miss Mary Crean and recently purchased by Mr. Peter McNeive, and if a scheme for division of these lands is likely to be submitted for approval at an early date.

The question of instituting proceedings for the resumption for the relief of local congestion of the holding to which the Deputy refers is at present under consideration by the Land Commission. At the present stage of the proceedings it is not possible to state when the lands, if resumed, may be divided.
