Vol. 68 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Sligo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when Allen's farm, Stonehall, Ballisodare, County Sligo, will be distributed, and why there has been such a delay in the preparation of a scheme for its distribution.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission are not yet in a position to state when the lands of Stonehall, on the Allen estate, will be distributed. The owner objected to the acquisition of these lands, and the objection has now been disallowed.

asked the Minister for Lands if he proposes to take steps to acquire the lands of Edward Friel, Grange, County Sligo, for distribution amongst the residents of the village of Grange, and if he is aware that the lands are about to be sold by public auction in lots, and that their acquisition will provide a much-needed amenity for the residents of that village.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission had under consideration some years ago the question of the acquisition of the lands of Grange, now in the occupation of Mr. Edward Friel, and they decided to take no action in the matter. In view of the representations recently made, the question is again being investigated.
