Vol. 69 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Conditions of Employment Act Regulations.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether regulations have been made under the Conditions of Employment Act having the effect of excluding persons in the employment of co-operative creameries from the provisions of the Act relating to (a) public holidays, and (b) annual leave.

All regulations made under the Conditions of Employment Act have been presented to the Dáil, and I would refer the Deputy, in particular, to the Conditions of Employment (Creameries) (Exclusion) Order, 1936, in connection with the subject of the question. The provisions of the Act relating to public holidays do not, by express provision in Section 49, apply to work done in a creamery. The regulations do not alter this position.

No regulations have been made under the Act in respect of annual leave.
