Vol. 69 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Expenditure on Wheat Advertising.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state how much money has been spent out of public funds on advertising designed to encourage farmers to grow wheat in each financial year from 1932-3 to date.

No special funds were allocated for wheat advertising during the financial years 1932-33 and 1933-34. Expenditure on this service during the years 1934-35, 1935-36 and 1936-37 was as follows:—

Can the Minister state if it is intended to add anything to the expenditure of £22,000 already incurred in advertising wheat? Does he mean to go on spending at that rate in the future?

There is money already voted for advertising this year.

How much does the Minister intend to spend this year?

About £8,000 roughly.

It is a grand game.
