Vol. 69 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Special Duties on Greyhounds.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that the losses arising from the special duties imposed on greyhounds exported from this country to England are a serious handicap to greyhound owners and breeders, and if he will have representations made to the British Government with a view to having the special duties removed or substantially reduced.

I am aware of how owners and breeders are affected by the special duties imposed by the British authorities on greyhounds exported to Great Britain.

If and when a suitable opportunity presents itself, advantage will be taken of it with a view to the modification or removal of those duties.
