Vol. 69 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Monaghan Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have acquired or intend to acquire for division the estates of Witherington, Annacroff, Carrickmacross; Witherington, Bellevue, Carrickmacross; Bolton, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross; and if so, when they will be divided.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the untenanted lands of Donaghmoyne on the estate of Reps. John M. Bolton and for the untenanted lands of Drumbroagh, Nafarty and Cloghvalley upper and lower on the estate of Joseph Witherington, deceased. Schemes for the division of these estates are in course of preparation, but until the schemes are completed and settled it is not possible to state when the lands will be divided.

The lands of Annacroff and Coolaha, on the estate of Joseph Witherington deceased, have been acquired and the scheme for their division will be put into operation as soon as possible.

Am I to understand, in view of the fact that the scheme is now being drafted, that any bona fide application brought under the attention of the Commissioners will be investigated?

Mr. Boland

I cannot say what stage has been reached, but if the Deputy makes representations I am sure they will be considered.

Is the scheme at such a stage that if representations are brought to the notice of the Commissioners they will look into them? I take it they will?

Mr. Boland

The scheme is not yet completed, but I take it they will.
