Vol. 69 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement of Cork Landing-Place.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received from Cork County Council proposals for the improvement of the landing-place at Sherkin Island, County Cork, and if he is prepared to sanction this work on the basis of the county council also giving a contribution.

Proposals have been received from the Cork County Council for the improvement of the landing-place at Sherkin Island. The Minister is advised that the work cannot be economically carried out during the winter months; but it will be considered on its merits in connection with any further programme of employment schemes in competition with any other proposals which may be received from the same area and in the light of the unemployment position at the time.
