Mr. Morrissey

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for each of the local office areas of (1) Dublin and Dun Laoghaire, (2) North Leinster, (3) South Leinster, (4) North Munster, (5) South Munster, (6) North Connacht, (7) South Connacht, (8) Ulster, and (9) for the country as a whole, the number of applications for unemployment assistance current in the week preceding (1) the 25th October, 1937, and (2) the 29th November, 1937, for (1) men and (2) women, (a) with means, (b) without means, and the number of others on the live register (including persons with unemployment insurance claims current), distinguishing between men, women, boys and girls.

Following is a

Statement showing the Number of Applications for Unemployment Assistance current in the week preceding (1) 25th October, 1937, and (2) the 29th November, 1937, for (1) men and (2) women, (a) with means, (b) without means, and the number of others on the Live Register (including persons with Unemployment Insurance Claims current) distinguishing between men, women, boys and girls.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of (1) men, (2) women, (3) boys, and (4) girls who were in receipt of (1) unemployment insurance payments, and (2) unemployment assistance payments during the week preceding (1) the 25th October, 1937, and (2) the 29th November, 1937, in each of the employment areas: (1) Dublin and Dun Laoghaire, (2) North Leinster, (3) South Leinster, (4) North Munster, (5) South Munster, (6) North Connacht, (7) South Connacht, (8) Ulster, and the gross total of such persons in receipt of these payments.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for each of the years 1936 and 1937 the following:—(a) the amount paid in respect of unemployment insurance to (1) workpeople and (2) associations; (b) the income derived from the sale of unemployment insurance stamps; (c) the income of the Unemployment Insurance Fund as derived from (1) contributions by employers and workpeople; and (2) State grant; and (d) the proportions in which the Unemployment Insurance Fund was derived from (1) contributions in respect of adults, and (2) contributions in respect of juveniles.
