Written Answers. - Tullow Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the estate of Mr. Samuel Thorpe, Rathtoe, Tullow, comprising approximately 100 acres for division.

Mr. Boland

The lands of Rathtoe, containing 111a. 1r. 20p., on the estate of Samuel R. Thorpe, are the subject of inquiries by the Land Commission, but it is not possible at the present stage to state whether the lands will be acquired.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the estate of Mr. L. Nolan, comprising approximately 240 acres, at Garryenleen, Tullow, for division.

The Land Commission published a notice of intention to apply to the Appeal Tribunal for leave to resume the holding of Luke Nolan, containing 271a. 1r. 6p., in the townland of Garreenleen, on the Browne-Clayton estate, but a petition against resumption has been lodged on behalf of the tenant. In the circumstances it is not possible at present to state whether the holding will be resumed.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the estate of Mr. James Dwyer, Rathrush, Tullow, comprising approximately 130 acres for division.

The reference appears to be to the holding of John Dwyer containing 187a. 3r. 28p., in the town-lands of Arbearn and Rathrush on the Montmorency estate. The question is under investigation by the Land Commission as to whether proceedings should be instituted for the resumption of this holding.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the estate of Mr. James Sunderland, Rathrush, Tullow, comprising approximately 190 acres for division.

The Land Commission published a notice of intention to apply to the Appeal Tribunal for leave to resume the holding of James Sunderland containing 117a. 2r. 20p., in the townland of Rathrush on the Montmorency estate but a petition against resumption has been lodged on behalf of the tenant. In the circumstances it is not possible at present to state whether the holding will be resumed.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the Kepple estate at Bendenstown, Tullow (now in the possession of Mr. F. O'Neill), for division.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have had under consideration the question of the acquisition of the lands of Bendenstown and Garreenleen which were vested in William Kepple under the Land Act, 1923, and decided to take no action in the matter.
