Vol. 70 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pensions Anomalies.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he received the resolution forwarded by the Waterford branch of the Typographical Association calling attention to the anomalies in the law relating to old age pensions whereby thrifty workmen who make provision to provide themselves with a superannuation allowance in their old age are debarred from receiving the full statutory old age pension; and, if so, whether he will state if it is the intention of the Government to amend the law in this respect.

The resolution referred to in the question has been received. It is not proposed to amend the law in the manner suggested.
