Vol. 70 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Architects' and Engineers' Fees in Louth.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the amount of fees paid by the County Louth Board of Health and Public Assistance to architects and engineers for each of the five years ended 31st March, 1937, in respect of (a) housing schemes; (b) water and sewerage schemes, and (c) the names of the architects and the total amount of fees paid to each architect.

Statistics of fees paid by local authorities to architects and engineers are not compiled in my Department, and I am not in a position to give the amount of such fees paid by the Louth Board of Health for the period referred to.

Mr. Walsh

Am I to understand that local bodies have autonomy in connection with such expenditure?

No, or any other finance, because the Minister spends it by sealed order when he thinks fit.
