Vol. 70 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocation of Road Grants to Cork.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if the original recommendations of the county surveyor for the County of Cork to the Local Government and Public Health Department for the allocation of grants from the Road Fund for main road improvement, 1937-38, were adhered to by that Department; if altered, what are the alterations; on whose advice were such alterations made and if inspections were made which justified such alterations, if any.

The allocation of the annual road improvement grant is made by me on the advice of the Department's engineering staff and not on recommendations of the county surveyors. Suggestions as to suitable works are invited from the county surveyors before a decision is come to.
