Vol. 70 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Dublin Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Kearney estate at Finglas, County Dublin, has been acquired or will be acquired in the near future for sub-division amongst the landless men in the district; whether he is aware that hitherto this land has been let out in grazing, and whether he is in a position to state if the estate will be sub-divided to permit of its cultivation in the present year.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings under Section 24 of the Land Act, 1923, and Section 25 of the Land Act, 1936, for the acquisition of the lands at Meakstown containing 158a. 2r. 10p. and Jamestown Little containing 47a. Or. 10p. comprising the Kearney estates, Record Nos. S.8044 and S.8044 (2). It is proposed to take over possession of the lands about 1st December next.
