Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Submerged Cork Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that James F Coveney and Mrs. N. Coveney have claimed exemption from annuities under Section 37 of the Land Act, 1933, in respect of the lands at Farranbrien, Carrigaline, County Cork, R.O. 79/11916, and if in view of the fact that these lands are continually submerged he will order an inspection of the holding for the purpose of exemption of these lands from further annuities; and the remission of all arrears due since these submerged wastes are useless to the tenants.

The Land Commission have under investigation the question of flooding on the holding of James F. Coveney and Mrs. N. Coveney, but the inquiries have not reached the stage where a decision can be made as to what action, if any, the Land Commission will take.
