Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Warrant for Unpaid Land Annuities.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (1) how many warrants were issued in respect of unpaid land annuities since 1st August, 1937, to date (a) in County Cork, and (b) in the Beara Peninsula, and (2) the number of holdings involved that were over £6 in valuation.

Mr. Boland

There were 3,204 warrants under Section 28 of the Land Act, 1933, issued since the 1st August, 1937, for recovery of arrears of revised land purchase annuities and annual sums due by tenant-purchasers in County Cork.

No statistics in regard to the other matters in the Deputy's question are kept by the Land Commission, and their compilation would entail a long and laborious research and the diversion of staff from their normal duties, which I am not prepared to sanction.
