Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - A County Donegal Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state why the Land Commission have determined not to acquire the estate of Charles Gallagher, County Donegal, Rec. No. V/10547, in view of the fact that all parties interested in this estate are anxious that the Commission should acquire it.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission, in the exercise of their statutory discretion, have decided not to take action in the matter of acquisition for purposes of division of the two small holdings of Charles Gallagher, which together comprise only an area of some 25 statute acres. There are arrears of Land Purchase Annuities due out of these holdings, and the Land Commission are considering the institution of sale proceedings to enforce the discharge of arrears.
