Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of County Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the cause of the delay in having the lands of the Rendell Estate, in the barony of Erris, County Mayo (which was taken over by the old Congested Districts Board about 25 years ago), vested in the tenants.

Mr. Boland

The delay in the vesting, of the holdings on the Rendell Estate in the tenant-purchasers was unavoidable owing to the exceptionally congested condition of this estate as purchased by the Congested Districts Board. The tenants were placed on a purchase annuity basis under the provisions of the Land Act, 1931. The vesting of a number of the holdings on the estate was put in hands some months ago and a Vesting Order will be published this week.
