Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the cause of the delay in dividing the lands of the late Mr. Myers, Grallagh, Horse and Jockey, Thurles, now in possession of the Irish Land Commission.

Mr. Boland

There has been no delay in the division of the lands of Grallagh on the estate of the late Mr. Myers. The Land Commission did not obtain possession of the lands until 9th February last. A scheme for their division will be prepared as expeditiously as possible.

Is the Minister aware that some of these lands are now set in conacre by the Land Commission?

Mr. Boland

Of course, that is due to the fact that a scheme has not been prepared. As I told the Deputy, the Land Commission did not get possession of the lands until the 9th of February last and, consequently, they had not got a scheme prepared. Naturally they must get some revenue from the lands until they are ready to divide them.
