Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Central Sorting and Delivery Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state what progress has been made in providing a new central sorting and delivery office since his previous statement in the Dáil on the 3rd February, 1937.

The first section of the new sorting office comprising the central garage and workshop will be ready for occupation during the next couple of weeks and it is proposed to start as soon as possible on the erection of a temporary sorting office on the main site. The additional accommodation thus provided will allow of work proceeding on the main scheme and plans are being framed accordingly.

Would the Minister say when it is anticipated that the temporary sorting office will be completed?

I cannot say definitely, but the matter is under consideration. I expect it will be completed in the course of some months.
