Vol. 72 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is now in a position to say whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the estate of the representatives of the late Patrick J. Fagan at Broadfield, Naas (Receivable Order No. 4929) for division; and, if so, when the estate is likely to be acquired.

I have nothing to add at present to the reply to the Deputy's previous question of the 10th November last. The Land Commission have not yet completed their enquiries regarding this Estate.

Would the Minister say if ever there is any likelihood of the enquiries being completed within the next twelve months?

Mr. Boland

There will be no undue delay.

That means nothing when you refer to the Land Commission. Anybody with any experience of that body knows that. This matter has been under consideration for some years, and various Ministers have given replies identical with the reply which the present Minister has given. In view of the speeches which the Minister made around the country about the speed with which the Land Commission proposed to acquire lands, will he take some steps to ensure that that acceleration applies also to this estate?

Mr. Boland

It will all come in good time.
