Vol. 72 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Scheme for Ballyporeen.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state if the housing scheme for Ballyporeen, County Tipperary, has been sanctioned, and how soon work is likely to take place, as a large volume of unemployment exists in the district.

The answer to the first portion of the question is in the negative. I understand the Commissioner administering the affairs of the Tipperary (S.R.) Board of Health and Public Assistance is at present taking steps for the acquisition of a suitable site at Ballyporcen, for the purpose of a housing scheme but a definite proposal in this regard has not yet been submitted to my Department.
