Vol. 73 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if, in view of the very inclement weather which prevailed during the summer months, and the scarcity of tradesmen in some urban areas, he will be prepared to extend the period during which housing grants will be paid up to about December 31.

I have no power to extend the period which has been fixed by statute.

Would the Minister not consider the advisability of bringing in a short Bill to enable that to be done?
